ASUS Announces New ROG Ally X

Priced at a whopping $799.
Just over a year after the release of the ROG Ally, Asus is introducing an upgraded model, the ROG Ally X. This Windows-powered device will be available starting July 22, priced at $799.

The new portable gaming console is designed for Windows 11 gaming. It features significant hardware upgrades, including an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, 1 TB SSD storage, 24 GB of DDR5-7500 RAM, and an 80Wh battery that offers twice the capacity of its predecessor.
Similar to the original ROG Ally, the ROG Ally X boasts a vibrant 1080p display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This may disappoint some fans who were hoping ASUS would follow Steam’s progress and upgrade to an OLED screen, which even Nintendo has done with the latest model of the Switch.

The console is equipped with two USB Type-C ports, including one that is Thunderbolt-compatible which is a big step up from the previous model. Thermal upgrades include fans that are 23% smaller with 50% thinner blades and an additional exhaust vent to cool the touchscreen by up to 6°C.
The console goes on-sale on July 22nd on the ROG online shop, priced at $799.
