Borderlands 4 Announced at Gamescom After Movie Flops

Along with a new teaser trailer for the game.
The next iteration of Borderlands, “Borderlands 4,” was announced at Gamescom last night and is slated for release next year. This reveal comes shortly after the film adaptation of the franchise bombed at the box office last week.
Borderlands 4 will be available on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series consoles. Alongside the announcement, a 90-second trailer was released, teasing a new adventure where players take on the role of a legendary Vault Hunter.
Despite the excitement surrounding the game, the film adaptation failed to make any form of impact either culturally or at the box office. Despite including Oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Jamie Lee Curtis, the movie flopped, earning a disappointing $18.6 million globally to date, according to Box Office Mojo.

While the film struggled to capture audiences, the future of the franchise now hinges on the success of Borderlands 4. With a new world to explore and plenty of loot to collect, the next installment looks to recapture the magic that made the series a fan favourite.
