PlayStation Announces Refunds for Concord Players After Shut Down

In a not so surprising turn of events, PlayStation has announced that their sci-fi shooter Concord will be taken offline on September 6th, 2024. The decision comes after the team closely reviewed player feedback and recognized that some elements of the game and its initial launch didn’t land the way they intended.
The game has garnered a passionate community of players known as the “Freegunners” and saw early success aboard the Northstar. Despite the positive reception in most areas, certain aspects of Concord fell short of both player expectations and the developers’ vision.
“Your support and the passionate community that has grown around the game has meant the world to us. We also recognize that other aspects of the game and our initial launch didn’t land the way we’d intended.” As stated in the official PlayStation site statement.
As part of the shutdown process, Concord sales have been immediately halted, and PlayStation has initiated a full refund process for all players who purchased the game on PlayStation 5 and PC.
Once the refund has been processed, players will no longer have access to the game. “We’ll keep you updated and thank you again to all the Freegunners who have joined us in the Concord galaxy.” stated as PlayStation concluded their post with a heartfelt message to the community.
