Ubisoft Delays Assassin’s Creed Shadows by Three Months

Ubisoft has announced a significant delay for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, pushing its release date back by three months.

Originally slated for November 12th, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is now expected to arrive on February 14th in 2025.

In an official statement, Ubisoft explained that the additional time will allow the team to “polish and refine” key aspects of the game, aiming to deliver a higher-quality experience. Unlike Star Wars Outlaws, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on Steam from day one.

Ubisoft also confirmed that players who had preordered the game will receive automatic refunds, and, in a departure from past practices, those who preorder the game going forward will get the first expansion for free.

Ubisoft clarified to investors that while Assassin’s Creed Shadows is “feature complete,” insights gained from Star Wars Outlaws have driven the decision to spend more time fine-tuning the game.

This delay will reportedly cost Ubisoft an additional $22.2 million, according to discussions with financial analysts. The news comes at a challenging time for Ubisoft, whose stock has taken a hit since the release of Outlaws.

For gamers eager to dive into Assassin’s Creed Shadows, there’s still only five months left to go until the game’s release.
